New semester, it becomes a new hope for every student included me to be better than last semester. As like usually, in the new semester we will get new courses. One of them is Humanistic Study. It is a challenging course that I have studied. Here, we not only study about human and their life but also how we use our critical thinking to solve problem of life. The special one is about difference among people.

As long as we know, the difference between people often becomes a problem in our life. Moreover, Indonesia which has many different culture, religion and also ethic in every region. It is also one of the hot topic that often discussed by many people. Here, difference is one sensitive thing. If we do not understand well. It can break the unity which is built by the society.

Well, as like what I read in Kompas on Friday, 11^th January 2008. A fighting often happens between ethics in Papua. That causes many people pained even people who do not join it. Actually it does not only happen in Papua but also in other place as like in Kalimantan, Maluku and even around us. It is very poor. We can imagine what will happen in our country. If fighting happens in every place. It is nightmare for us.

What has happened can be our reflection especially for us as candidate of teacher. We should know about kinds of that case so we can learn how to solve. It is because a teacher is a key for creating a good leader future. Basically the duty of teacher does not only teach lesson to his / her students but also prepare the students to face real world. It will help them to survive in the life.

Before preparing the students, we should prepare our self well. So Humanistic Study is the key to reach it. Here, the candidate of teacher can learn how to understand the difference. I think it is an important study that we have to get because we never know with whom we will meet and work together. As like what happens to me right now, I stay in a boarding house around many people who has different sex, religion, ethic, and also background education. But as long as I stay there, everything is ok. There is no problem happens. We respect each other, they never disturb me when I pray and sometimes they also help me when I got difficulty.  I never think that difference is a border of someone to communicate, make relation with other.

I realize that as social human, we can not stay alone. We need others even they are different from us. The mean point we should understand each other and we also have to treat them well because if we treat them well so I belief they also will do the same thing to us. Those are the way to live happily in difference.
